Here are some common questions about the Webelos program:

1. Which shirt does the Webelos Scout wear?

Either blue or tan. The choice is made by the family, not by the unit.

Reasons to stay with the blue shirt:

• Cost savings
• No need to resew patches - it becomes a trophy shirt
• When the tan shirt is purchased, it can be sized larger to last longer.

Reasons to change to the tan shirt:

• The blue one is too small
• The boy did not start until Webelos
• Peer pressure.

2. Which shirt does the female Webelos Den Leader wear?

Either yellow or tan.

3. How many adults are needed on a Webelos den overnighter?

The standard is one adult partner per Webelos Scout. If a boy does not have an adult partner, he may be assigned to another adult, but not to the den leader. Any parent may be in charge of only one additional boy beyond their own son(s). [p. 14, Guide to Safe Scouting, 1998]

4. What sports pins and belt loops are required?

• The Physical Fitness sports pin is required for the Athlete activity badge.
• The Swimming belt loop is one of the options for earning Aquanaut.
• Two individual sports belt loops (archery, badminton, bicycling, bowling, fishing, golf, gymnastics, marbles, physical fitness, skating, skiing, swimming, table tennis, tennis) are required for Sportsman.
• Two team sports belt loops (baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, ultimate, volleyball) are required for Sportsman.
