Armrests, Seats, and Fairings

The canard cover was made by shaping 2 inch thick urethane to fit the canard.  The canopy deck and canard cover were carved and glassed at the same time.  I wanted this to be one smooth curve from nose to canopy.  It seems to have worked out OK.

The fairings between the strakes and the canopy were done by hotwiring blue foam to match at the firewall and taper to a smaller radius at the front.  They were made hollow on the inside to clear the canopy joints.  Once they were in place (lots of lead pieces), I poured pour foam behind the blue foam.  Net result-  nice consistant outside shape bonded quite nicely to the underlying structure with pour foam.  Some hacksaw cutting to free the canopy from the fuselage, a bit of sanding, and ready to glass.
